HI,

Somehow I cannot acces my shared folders on my desktop xp home. I don`t have problems connecting to my shared folders on my laptop with xp media center. I think that is strange. I use the same firewall on both and connects wireless as well on both. Both pc`s appear in the media player on N900 .

Thanks in advance

Hmm... I guess that's not the same. Could you access *.jpg and *.pdf Files this way?

I have no Windows Media Player on my Desktop. So I can't test this.

I could only access with the media player shared folders. I don`t have pdf files in those folders but jpg and other photos in other formats I also get access to. But it could be interesting how to access regular folders shared in the windows network?

I hope someone can help with this issue?

THANKS

Once i have seen my shared folders from my xp desktop running on my home network. haven't seen them since. i check every time i go on my wifi, to see if they pop up in my file manager again, but they never do

btw i didnt use windows media player to set share. i just enabled a folder on my xp desktop for network sharing... why it dosent show up again after that one time, beats the hell out of me...

There is the ovi files application. It's more of a browser based workaround than a native n900 solution, but it works.

It's also a bit scary as far as security is concerned.

Well... so untill now only media files can be shared within your privat network? Is that correct? Could be nice if a Maemo expert could comment that!

THANKS ;o)
