Is the N800 powerful enough to support 800x480(720x480) at 30 fps? I used the new media convertor and while the res is great at 800x480, the frame rate is not very good, watchable, but not great. Is this possible via firmware, or are we limited due to hardware restrictions?
thanks

According to a post on the maemo developers list (sorry, I didn't save the link - see Gossamer Threads), probably not. Apparently the N800 frame buffer is more bandwidth constrained than the 770. Not what you'd expect, but them's the breaks.

Go to the maemo homepage under downloads, media, mconvertor download. Must be used w/ mplayer at higher res.
