Real strange thing happened to me last night - I wonder if anyone else has seen this.

I was installing claws email client and half way through the "installing" progress bar in the application manager my n900 rebooted. I then got the white NOKIA logo screen and then up came a text message in a rather large font saying "Updating software" It then counted up from 1% to 100% and finally started up the phone.

This happened almost a day after I did the PR1.01 update so I dont think it has anything to do with PR1.01. Could it by any chance be the claws mail client? It would surprise me if it was.

Then what? Was Claws installed when the phone rebooted or did you need to reinstall it?

Maybe the update couldn't complete earlier and the installation of claws triggered a post-install script from the installation.
