They have fixed the bug, but have not released the fix. It's fairly obvious, in my opinion.

Yea...it do suck to have a N900 next to me for a month now, and not be able to use it....My head have been drifting towards a Nexus One or the coming SE X10, but after some research, they have their own issues. it seems like the consumers now adays are the factories QC dept (Quality Control)

yup, certainly always been the case with Nokias! My N96 was a dog a remains so. N97 not much better when released for a long time either! Slowly thats getting sorted. I dont get how nokia 'testers' dont spot these problems within the first few days of testing release version phones...

Yeah but the fact is, they think the issue has been resolved.
And we're happy with the fix.

Yes, the new firmware makes the N900 work with the non-standard SIMs from 3. The T-Mobile PAYG can now be tossed, until my 3 contract finishes. At that time, T-Mobile has a 30 day rolling contract called Solo 20 that looks pretty good, if a bit light on data at an "unlimited" 1Gb/month.

Yes, it was. Fixed but not yet released, as they were wrapping it up in big firmware release.

It shipped today, and it works. My 3 SIM is now fine in my N900.

My 3 UK SIM which did not work before is working fine with PR1.1. Have used voice, SMS and data already. This message brought to you by N900 over 3 UK GPRS
