The N900 is useless with Bluetooth Headset. Something is bung up with their Wifi chip with the bluetooth. Wifi + bluetooth on the same chip is just bad design. One cannot work without another but one can work without another.

For example if you're using BH, then it gives you this bad sound quality (similar to robot) but then turn on the wifi during the phone call. The sound quality improves by almost 60% clearer. So is this the design problem with hardware or software issues? I updated to 1.01 and I can tell you that it somewhat make my N900 slower than before and CPU usually hit the roof.

could you not just use your N95 remote and/or headset

or plug N900 headset into remote then phone . will that work guess you should try this would solve all problems and cord will be long as i find the cord too short most of the time.

I would rather use bluetooth headsets I HATE CORDS he he

Nokia ones included are awful. They sound tinney and hollow with little or no bass.
They should do what SEs do and have the first part of the headphones with the switch pluggable so you can dump the useless ones then send with the phone for your own decent ones.

Personally I recommend creative headphones.

Seinnhieser (SP) are too expensive and I don't think they perform well at all. Bose are like iPhones, a fashion/lifestyle brand for those who know no better. And equally as expensive!

Skullcandys are also decent headphones.

All earphones block out surrounding sound and should never be used while driving.

Headphone use while driving is, in fact, illegal in most parts of the US (where I live).

Are you a young driver, perhaps?

They are okish(i do like that they are in ear). Thought intrestingly enough the remote used on N900 is the only one i have seen. E97 mini got same set of earphones as N900, but different remote. Till now at least all the N series phones have come with remote where you can plug-in your own headphones. Don't know why they opted to do this now.

For me it's not a issue as i got 2 sets of my own headphones that are far out of reach from any of these comes with a phone options
If i could choose i would save 4-10 euros of the phones price by leaving the earphones out

Fortunately it's possible to change volume without unlocking the phone. Just press power button, then volume key. No need to pull N900 from your pocket to change the volume.

I never use head phones that come with a device. It still shivers me how I used to use my iPod nano head phones for a while. At the moment best usability and sound quality I seem to get when using BH-214 with my own cx-300 II's plugged in. Gives to ability to change track, pause, use as hands free and change volume.

Agreed, the free headphones are rubbish. They are 'muddy' and are the worst in-ears I've ever used. Even the knock-off Sony Ericsson ones I bought off ebay for a pound for my W800i were better!

The only good thing about the headphones is they have a very good fit.

I disagree about Seinnheiser. A pear of CX-300 can be bought for only £15 from Amazon (not the marketplace.) These are the same as the Creative headphones (Seinnheiser make them for Creative.)

Skullcandys are notorious for bad construction quality.

I now have a nice set of Etymotic HF-5, which are excellent (the HF-2 sadly doesn't work on the N900, as its for iPhones...)

Anyone still using the cheap rubbish that came free needs to get a pair of Seinnheiser, Shure, Klipsch, Etys or anything decent (even... Sony) and hear the difference!!!
