Actually internet3.voicestream.com causes my device to not be able to connect the 3g internet on T-Mobile.

How ever when I set it to epc.tmobile.com it connects right up (even though it is a bit slow, at full bars it only downloads at 100kb/sec)

That's not correct...unless Edge specifications have recently changed

I started my T-Mo account w/$10/mo. web2go plan last month, and SIM card was pre-configured w/the Internet2 APN. I was able to get 3Mb download result per speedtest.net in Philadelphia, and consistently get 900Kb down and 300Kb up in MD..

edit: do you know how to get there? well just in case :

Settings>Internet Connections>Connections>T-mobile>Edit>Next

then check if your connection is set on : internet3.voicestream.com
and username and pass should be left blank hit finish and restart.
check your source it does not matter what the settings are if you are in 3g coverage, it all depends on your plan. i have unlimited web for dumb phones and i have 3g and 3.5 speeds all day on internet2

As stated, you have to be in a 3G coverage area.

Also check the "Phone settings" under "Settings", and make sure your mode is set to "Dual".

Under "Internet Settings", make sure your WAP settings are set to auto obtain IP address.

Intrnet 2 and epc work in the US.. you no doubt have a provisioning issue on T-Mobile's end.

And for the fellow who said trust me:

Issue:
What are the T-Mobile GPRS / EDGE network settings (APN, DNS, gateway IP, proxy, etc.) for any handset / device

Response:
Note: Effective June 27th, 2009 it is no longer required to use a different APNs to access services. The APN should be set as epc.tmobile.com at all times. Proxy Settings can be entered but will be ignored by the gateway.
http://developer.t-mobile.com/loadKb...olutionId=1159

Access Points Names (APNs)
T-Mobile Internet: Internet2.voicestream.com
T-Mobile Internet VPN: Internet3.voicestream.com
Web2Go/t-zones: wap.voicestream.com
BlackBerry: blackberry.net
Sidekick: hiptop.t-mobile.com
T-Mobile G1: epc.tmobile.com

GPRS dial-up number: *99#
Alternate DUN: *99***X# where X is the Connection ID (CID)

Quality of Service (QoS): The QoS setting is configured by T-Mobile. The connection setting defaults to three, and changing the settings on the handset does not effect the connection in any way. The peak rate and mean rate are also automatically set by T-Mobile.

Same here...have the unlimited web/text plan for dumb phones ($19.95) and I use internet2 for my APN and get 3g service. If I try the epc APN I get the upsell web page

any apn you use with tmobile you get 3G. internet3 apn is for the VPN specially, which they stopped giving out since august llast year.
I am getting 3G no matter what apn I use. and even if he doesnot have a tmobile data connected he should still see the 3G icon because tmobile 3G is just not the data it is data and voice.

i would call them and have them check provision on your account.
it depends what plan you would like if you surf a lot i suggest to get a unlimited web for dumb phones mine is 9.99 but that grandfathered or whatever you call it
the easiest way to do it is log in to your account and change your phone to samsung t879 i believe its the brown one and add unlimited web for dumbphones and use setting internet2.voicestream.com

you will find it in settings interent connections then click connections and you should have wifi if it is setup and tmobile connections if it is setup mine is names tmobile internet if not click on new and set it up aps internet2.voicestream.com user name blank and password balnk click next and advanced leave proxy unchecked and ip on auto retrieve

one thing could be Setting - Phone make sure you picked Automatic. And the Setting-internet connections pick T-mobile and save it. And at the top too click and pick the internet connection wheres showing your 3G connection sign to set it to T-mobile. Since switching to tmobile from att its always on 3G havnt seen going below that and with adding internet plan its showing 3.5 petty much always. Oh yea and by default setting on internet2.voicestream.com at least thats what i have.

I have their 60$/month 500min/unlimited text/unlimited data

At any rate it works when I configure it as I stated in my above post to epc.tmobile.com but not for any of the others. Not that it really matters I guess - but all my other settings are at defaults so I find it odd that settings that are working for everyone else do not work for my device.

I live right near Chicago and my device is always showing 3/3.5g - download speeds are alright, better than my old Cricket 3g modem at any rate.
