Have you installed vpnc_0.5.8-0m5_armel.deb from Maemo Extras Devel? If yes, check if these instcutions work for you:

Yeah, even if you remove vpnc the hack done by vpnc in /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4.script remains. Upgrade to PR1.1 over SSU is not able to overwrite the hacked file so one has to manually enter in X Terminal (as root):

'mv /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4.script.dpkg-dist /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4.script'

I've had the same problem too. but this is how i fixed it

After I flashed.. the device name is changed to Nokia-N900-51-1 from Nokia-N900-42-11 (BTW i also have "Wireless MAC Filtering")

Just that change didn't allow me to connect.. So i just added my new name Nokia-N900-51-1 back to "ALLOWED DEVICES"
and wallah connection again... hope this helps

EDIT: I'm not sure if update changes MAC address if anyone knows please enlighten... thanks
