Histrel - O2 are about to announce new tarrifs in May and the leaked info so far suggests their data tarrifs are still a joke - £3 for 2mb or £5 for 4mb - so if you intend to surf the web with your N800 you're better off with T-Mobile Web'n'Walk+ £12.50 for 3GB, or regular Web'n'Walk £7.50 for 1GB (as long as you don't get caught using WnW with tethered - rumour is T-Mobile are clamping down on their T&Cs).
As I've been with O2 for ages I have actually got such a good deal on talk/text that it would be hard to find the same anywhere else (in fact impossible - I've tried).
Hope you get sorted with a good deal and a suitable phone.

I know what you mean about old O2 tarrifs - I've been with O2 for 10 years and my monthly tarrif is £15 with about 100 bundled minutes and 50 texts, it's enough for me as a voice tarrif but I'm steadily increasing my data usage and this is where O2 are killing me. I'll need to take the hit on a more expensive voice tarrif to save costs on the data tarrif.
That said, last time I rang O2 requesting my PAC code in order to switch to T-Mobile (early April 2007) the retention center operative begged me to wait until the new tarrifs were announced, and there are rumours O2 will cut special unlimited data tarrif deals in order to retain customers. Fingers crossed they'll cut me a nice data deal, however due to various circumstances (ie. higher purchasing priorities on my list) I'm going to have to leave it for a couple of months before I contact O2 again and play the game of transfer russian roulette.
