well i did have open arena but i uninstalled it, and i had moodlight which is a flash app and i uninstalled that too. And pretty much left all the apps from ovi and maemo. And the rest i said in my first post of this topic. And my problem start as soon as my device restarted after the firmware.. I could just tell this was bad because my screen started bouncing.

I used to have Open Arena, never uninstalled it. about moodlight never tried it.
My 1st upd was thru PC Suite, and this big last one was thru OTA. All smooth.

I know u did many tries. Rest a lit bit, and then try again, maybe, u know, the frustration makes u down in same steps errors.

Maybe u got the wrong flasher, wrong OS, or corrupted files (both flshr or bin), maybe u just assuming some steps that could make the difference. Just brainstorming okas.

Maybe some software in ur pc is bothering the process, etc. etc.

If u did everything, what can I say... .Good luck!

I just downloaded:
Nokia PC Suite. version 7.1.40.1

Then started it and then selected "Update Phone Software" option. I just noticed here: Nokia Software Updater. v1.8.10en-us

Then the process let u update it.

I have a similar problem, or even the same. My phone also goes dead in stand-by mode and doesn't respond until I take out the battery. Reflashed twice, but didn't help.

I posted more details in this thread:

did you reflash eMMC too?

(just change the flasher -commands filename from fw image to emmc image after you've flashed the firmware first)

I'm starting to think that the firmware fixes made to fix the reboot issue may be behind this... Maybe some devices don't like the fixes at all?

Just to add some datapoints... did your device suffer from the reboot issue previously? My bet is that not...

Hopefully this has been resolved but anyone who might still be reading this, this problem could have been avoided by adhering to the official methods of updating.

The inability to update OTA is directly related to applications requiring dependcy to files which would be updated. This was rectified by uninstalling all things from the maemo dev repo.

Barring that, had this individual used the official PC upgrade path provided by Nokia this still could have been avoided.

I didn't have the reboot issue. The device worked totally fine before the update.
