Thanks for the info on Cingular. I don't live in the metro Chicago area so 3G is out for me. I also checked out howardforums.com and my 3VN (or is is a 3VM?) wasn't on the list of phones that could be tethered, so I'll give up on that issue for now.

As to euchreprof comment about my WIFI question not being answered - I didn't really expect it to be. I did go to the aircrack-ng site and read it but unfortunately it all looked greek to me so I'll stay away from that one as well.

I'm leaving today for a trip, my 800 is packed and I can't wait to get to the hotel to try it out. If you don't hear from me for a few days, know that I didn't have much success or that I just ran out of time. :-(

Thanks again to anyone who replied.

p.s. I do know how to use regedit. And CMD. :-)

Update - I'm sitting in my hotl room using my 800 right now. It's a wonderful machine & I love it. I Wil have to figure out how to get rid of the auto fill on the keyboard coz I make too many typos. But Nokia has a new fan. Thanks for all the help.

I can't believe Nokia sells this product for under $400. Oh wait... the OS. (How many people does Nokia have working on the OS? 1-2? lol)

Control Panel -- Personalisation -- Text input settings -- Find the "Word completion" tab -- (un)select everything there you don't like.

Thank you! I had a 10 hour drive today and never got the chance to change it today. I'll do that tomorrow.

BTW-does anyone use the bluetooth keyboards? Do they work better than the little onscreen keyboard?

Yes, and yes. Even if my BT keyboard is of the QWERTZ disposition and doesn't give all the special characters. QWERTYs are -- as usual -- fine.
