Are you sure the calendar widget isn't present on one of your other desktops (swipe left and right)? You can only add the widget to one desktop, so if it's not showing up in the add widget dialogue, then I'm guessing that's the problem.

You were absolutely right. I feel like a bonehead for not noticing it but the widget was hidden under my desktop full of bookmarks.

yep, i noticed this on mine this morning. I think it is suppose to do that but for it to start all of a sudden. Must have been something that we all installed.

I also unlock every morning, but it looks just the way it looked the night before - no unexpected open calendar. Usually I have the todo widget and the messages widget there.

Uhm, just realized i had this too... I get the month view in the morning!
I guess i was too sleepy the other days to care before reading this thread :-)

And all this without anything added for the current day.

I'm also wondering why the calendar keep showing things that are 1-2 weeks old.

The widget has a 5-entry thing going on and if the stuff in the future is too far it shows the past for a while.

Calendar app has a month thing going on as I noticed.

Hmmm mine has been open in the morning the last few days. Come to think of it I did enable "delete entries older than 2 weeks" about when this started happening. Will turn that off and hopefully the calendar won't greet me in the morning.

This is a known bug. If you have your calendar set to automatically delete entries older than _____, the calendar will automatically open at 4:00am every morning. See here.

I have the same issue on my N900 and it's driving me crazy. Every morning when I pick up my N900 the calendar is open.

So from what I understand disabling deleting old entries will get rid of this problem?
