This is what i got...

Dear Thinh,

Thank you for your email!

We are working on it. At this moment we could only make a 1320mAh battery - which is same capacity as the original so no improovement yet, but we kep trying.

Please contact me if you need any additional info.

Best Regards,

Nikolai

I got the same today. My hope was that it would be possible to have a longer battery size without size increasement (because the N900 is already big). Sadly it doesn't sound like this.

yea, we will see what they come up with.. the n900 is most probably a profitable device for them as battery on this cant really be enough for all the things it can be used for. I might be interested in a really big one for travels and other things where it is more used as kamera/video/laptop/gps even if it adds 4-5mm to thickness.. I would still use standard battery for day to day, mobilephone/communication things..

That is good and bad news.
Good news is that they are working on an extended battery
Bad news is that this will make the N900 bigger (thicker)
I was hoping that they would release a 1500mAh battery with the same size as the Nokia battery.

"2300-2400mAh battery in February 2010"

I guess it will come with a larger back case. I was hoping for more of a 1500mAh so that it will fit in the original casing. The N900 is thick enough already...

Its not the worst thing in the world - I have to agree that a 1500mAh would be a good option, but how useful would it be when this thing has the potential to get through 1320mAh in so little time. I'm sure they'll get one done eventually as they did with the N810 etc but from some emails Mugen sent to users here, sounds like they were having trouble with keeping the size the same but increasing the power.

Someone else posted these points here earlier, but a new back cover could solve a few probs including the thing not lying flat when you lie it down for the spirit level app, the reflection in photos from the shiny bit surrounding the camera lens cover and, if we're lucky, we might get a sturdier kick stand! Plus, it will be nothing like as big as the 3000mAh+ batteries they put out, so hopefully it'll only be a few mm thicker.

I'll bite their hand off for one when they get them out :-)

90 bucks for an extended battery? No thanks. I'd have to toss my new PDair case. I'll stick with using my Tekkeon charger that runs off of four 2700mah AA batteries. I'm running my N900 with a cheap replacement Nokia 5800 "1450mah" battery(1250mah according to the batlevel utility). My fully charged stock battery is kept handy just in case I get stranded somewhere. By the looks of it, Nokia could have used the E90's BP-4L battery.
