Ha! This video is awesome! No more annoying Nokia sound at start up.

and I think the "tv off zap" looks really cool even though it isn't "logical". :P

Unless you think of it as "the screen is malfunctioning but starts working"...

EDIT: I guess it could be a little brighter though, and the inverse-circle-shadow could be left out for a really bright cool effect (It would look more like the device is "malfunctioning", it looks artificial because of the shadow). Just IMO. But I'm not the artistic guy here

Nice idea.

I'd like to combine that with some retro theme. Landscapes made of pure wireframe. Green & glowy, with a dip of gaussian blur.
But first i have to get my N900.

I would like one with some noise on the noise, if you know what I mean
Like the annoying sound

Does anyone know if the boot process continues while video is playing or is it halted for the duration? This would hint at boot video length.

This rocks! Since we can use multiple videos, I added this one, followed by this one and they look awesome! It makes me want to reboot just to watch the video sequence

I removed the vignette so it should be bright enough for you.
Save as: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/vyper1/tvnoise1.avi

To answer your question no it doesn't continue loading whilst the startup video is playing. I used a 1min video and after it finished playing it then went on to load up the desktop applications. I'm also sure it didn't play the full minute but I can't say that I timed it using a watch or anything but it did seem to only play around 45secs.

So, did it cut out? Or it was the kind of video that is hard to track?

I'm also thinking not boot while playing, since it would probably be very choppy. So, basically, longer boot video equals longer boot time? I'm thinking no video right now, faster boot more root space?
