Are other people having problems with Nokia's camera app? After a minute of use, it starts to get unresponsive. It will take a picture 20 seconds after hitting the picture button, if it takes a picture at all.

Yes, so much so that I modified the camera demo app. I hope to more officially release my modifications soon, now that I have more free time. The included source code can replace camera.c in the camera api demo. Of course, no warranty on this code. I think it works good enough though.

Wow... thank you. A nice improvement even without the camera's slightly more advanced features. Great job.

Wow! That's incredible! I figured the poor little n800 just didn't have the guts to handle the capture and display of video at a decent frame rate. I was expecting someone to optimize the camera app eventually, but I sure wasn't expecting someone to do 30fps video without even going over 50% CPU utilization. Very nice. I take it you're using a more direct approach to displaying the video than Nokia did?

What features are you missing?

Great!

Not only it is fast, I did a "top" from a ssh connection, and it uses around 30% cpu only!

But: 2 menu entries, couldn't that be just one? Nice to have also a configuration to select the directory where the photos end up.

Otherwise: many thanks! And looking at the code, much easier than I had expected.
