Hi.

Have been a silent reader for long now in this forum.
I listen a lot of music with my N900 and I would like to adjust more volume than the device allows.

I´m using large headset back home and I can´t ger enought volume from those. I have to addmit that i probably listen too loud couse i need more volume even for my normal blugs.

Also some songs might have bad sound quality which would need to be play louder.

Is this possible to change in built in player, couse that would be great.

i agree

most of the time its fine but sometimes i have a song that just isnt loud enough and it would be great if it was louder.

im sure there is a someone here that knows enough to make the output a little louder. its was simple on the lg viewty(practically built in)

volume needs be loud not only for music player, also needs be loud for regular calls, because when you'r at public places you just can't hear. even if you activate the speaker. grrrrrr

sometimes I see my device meeting the floor badly >.<

Code:
alsamixer -c0
The first item on the left is the headset. Should be below 100 and you could rise it to 100.

What we need is gain from the media player.

Internet radio is nice volume-wise, some videos are not since all decent players have gain so nobody cares. Even music has this.

Hey, how about replay gain? Anyone pushed for this yet? RG and manual gain would be a nice combo.

Which reminds me. The "ding" unable to play video file is way louder than the video. So it can be done.

If it's like most hardware these days, it's just a software limitation to protect Nokia from being sued for you blowing your ears off.
