See those games? Yes, that's precisely why we need a Sega Genesis emulator on the N900!

I picked the best games out there for this system. Genesis was special. It should live on. I'm glad i could grow up with it, blowing cartridges and all...

Being able to play Streets of Rage would be awesome, though.

This has been discussed in other threads. Just blurting out that you want a Genesis emulator won't make anyone capable of making/porting one think "Oh he's right! I should get right on it!". If you want one badly start investigating if there are any for Linux and if they are open source. If you find any check if they easily can be compiled to run on the N900. Then post results here.

I had wondered why there wasn't a Genesis (or Megadrive as us tea-drinkers know it) emulator floating around - it too was my console of choice in my youth and it was conspicuous in its absence. (Didn't see much specific in the Emulators thread, but I didn't read it all.)

Just out of interest, you can get a fair chunk of the games you've highlighted in bold in the Sega Classics Collection for the PSP, if you want to play them on the move

Playing the actual Duke Nukem would be way preferable to the Genesis version which I dimly remember being pretty terrible.

Putting the OP up for most Pointless Post of the Week Award - or PPOWA. Saying "I want" and listing a bunch of games - ahh pointless.

http://www.squish.net/generator/description.html Opensource Sega Genesis emulator. Not sure how well it works though. or if it will even work.

Also another list.

http://www.zophar.net/linux/genesis.html

It would need someone who has the ability to port programs to Maemo to be intrested though.

Yeah, PicoDrive seems the logical choice for porting. Get to it OP!
