So I got thinking about how to use the proximity sensor and I thought about the keylock/standby screen(where the screen is off). I have been wondering why that mode couldn't display any useful information. say when the screen is touched, it lights up and displays info about messages, e-mails, missed calls, etc. as well as the slide to unlock thing for a period of about 10 seconds. The only issue I can see is when the phone is in your pocket the screen could be pressed accidentally, but if you incorporate the proximity sensor to not allow the light up display function to happen if it detects something less than an inch away, this problem would be solved.
Any thoughts?
