It took me forever to get it to work, and after an exhaustive search on this forum nothing really helped, so I figure I would post my settings. Figure maybe someone is also trying to get it to work. Right now I am able to get my Contacts, Email, and Calendar to ALL sync with Google.

So this is what I did, I used MfE and entered the following..

server: m.google.com
port: 443
Secure Connection: yes

Username: <username w/out @gmail.com>
Password: <password>
Domain: <blank>

Under calendar options I chose create new rather than using the default 'N900'

You need to goto your gmail account and enable pop access and imap access. I dont know why but after enabling the two it seemed to get email to sync.

With those settings you should be able to get the device to sync up with Google. It would seem from all the trials and errors that I had done was that if ANY of the three failed and you were syncing all three at the same time (for the first time), the whole thing wont sync until you fix the problem. So I sync'd in one by one until I finally have all three working. Good luck!

i quoted what I wrote from HoFo where I was originally looking for answers.

Hi

Thank you for your post. I tried this and I was only able to sync the calendar ? I saw something about it on the m.google.com help that other people had problem with contacts as well. Is this still working for you ?

N900 Sync will only work with Calendar, it doesn't work with email or tasks and contacts are a hit and a miss

this is really weird for me. i have kept the same settings and everything. When I try syncing it again today, occasionally it will work and other times it wont. I guess yesterday I just got really lucky.

So if you want your items to be sync'd half the time this should work, just leave the syncing on and it will eventually sync once or twice? The data has stayed on my device, so as far as Im concerned I am sort of happy with my half *** solution.

this definitely seems like something that Google themselves need to address since it seems like there is something wrong with their server. That or there needs to be another update for MfE to work better.

are you able to get calendar to sync all the time everytime? i seem to be able to get it to sync occasionally, email seems to be like the only function that can sync each and everytime
