Mighty all,

Has anyone figured out how to change default "Nokia" RDS text that is being transmitted by FM transmitter?

I believe that it is hardcoded in the /usr/sbin/fmtxd binary, but I didn't try patching the binary yet to confirm.

Nokia-N900-51-1:~# fmtx_client --help
Usage:
------
-f<uint> Set frequency (in kHz)
-s<string> Set RDS station name
-t<string> Set RDS info text
-p<uint> Turn fmtx on (1) or off (0)

fmtx_client: invalid option -- -
fmtx_client: ERROR: Error in commandline arguments ()

so it is changeable. anyone wants to help me coding a plugin (small script) that takes the song information and sends it over RDS? this would be my first coding experience after some qbasic years ago...

it would be very nice if the media player could update that information with the current song it is playing!

since the last system update station names will show via RDS if you have RDS scrolling enabled on the receiver.

only trouble is, it seems to scroll once, to the end of the name, and then doesn't repeat.
