Maybe I'm just a complete ***** or something, but I've recently downloaded some stuff from applications and they are not appearing on my phone, (no icon), I try and look for them in my File Manager and it's freezing.

Any advice anybody? I appreciate your help community

Hi Diavoli - can you list what you downloaded and where you got them from (Ovi, or which repository etc)

Some of them, for example Mplayer, have no gui and require extra apps to use their functionality.

Well from OVI, Rubix Cube, Mirror Ball, Candle, angry birds, but just from the Application Download, I tried downloading Flashlight and Mplayer movie Player, so maybe that's what it is, but I'd assume flashlight to work, or even touchsearch hasn't appeared

hmmmm, have you added any menu changers like mymenu or catorise? as they change what goes in what menu?

Rubix/mirror ball etc should all appear happily in the menu - note they do normally have a blue icon for a while. either waiting or rebooting fixes it.

Have you tried a reboot, just to check that first?

Restart your phone and if they do not appear try to install for example angry bird again.

also touchsearch is a desktop widget, so will not appear in the menu (i think! - not used it) - when you edit your desktop, click to add a widget and it should be in that menu.

All those I have, it's now just Mplayer, flashlight, and touchsearch, which I've recently tried to download from from applications, maybe I have to do it from OVI instead now?

A reboot means just to take out the battery?

ok well, Mplayer - you need KMPlayer to play files - mplayer is a hidden back end application.
Flashlight i'm not sure but will check.

Will also check touchsearch, but pretty sure it is a widget.

Just turn the phone off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on

OK Well

Mplayer - sorted (As you wont see it)

Flashlight - when you install the details field says "The applet is only visible if the lens cover is open"
Edit - It should ask you to use it when you open the camera lens, or give you the choice - check this thread out
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...shlight&page=6

Touchsearch - lol i can't find it either, working on it!

Edit - Touchsearch -
just rebooting to test
