hy there all,i recently find and added the extras-devel catalog and the ovi.I have installed few apps from there,but now when i try to up-date my apps i have this error like "no more free space".I've checked my memory from settings and i have 1,49 Gb left for installing apps.Is there anyone who can tell me,what is wrong,because i am new with maemo/linux,i am shure that is my bad. (sorry all for my english and for bad posting)

Go to terminal and type in command:
df -h
If your rootfs space is nearly full you could get that problem. You can try to free up space with removing devel applications.

i would just flash the device. Makes things a lot easier.

you mean reinstall it via Nokia Software Update?

The one that matters here is rootfs. It's at 100% (full) so you need to

remove some of the extras-devel apps you installed.

ok,i understand.I will start removing,thank you all.I was thinking that this error will appear ony after that 1,49 gb space will fil up,i think i have much to learn .Thank you again.

I've also found (as have others throughout this forum) that disabling extras-devel once you're done uninstalling seems to free up quite a lot of space (in my case, several meg)

Hmm, wondering why cant those Extra-Devep etc apps be install outside the root fs by default...

If they want us to test it and used their apps .....duh!!!

optifying is a non-standard practice and takes more work. That's why the devel repo is primarily for developers.

extras-testing *should* be more optified. That's where the "testing" is supposed to be done.

A lot of the applications there are ports from other Linux machines.. none of which install outside of rootfs.
