Hey all .. ! Well I just installed this software called 'rs' (or Remote Security) which is meant to look your device upon receiving a specific SMS or something ..

I was just configuring the program now, and what's happened is that the software keeps locking my phone .. and then when I unlock it, it locks it again .. and again .. and again .. !!

I think the problem is that when I configured the device, I kept the same passwords for both locking and unlocking .. and so when I enter the password to unlock, it accepts it, but then locks the phone again .. author of this program, please take note of this bug ..

Anyways, is there any way to uninstall this program .. ? Problem is it won't let me access anything on the phone .. So I can't access the App Manager ... Any way to resolve this issue ?

The only way I can think of removing this problem is re-flashing .. any other way guys ?

ssh to device as root then apt-get remove rs to remove, assuming you have both setup. Default root password is rootme

Good luck.

Nope, haven't got SSH setup sadly ..

Fortunately I can still receive and answer calls at least :P

Anyways, is there no way to resolve this problem other than a reflash ? How about a hard reset ?

Is it not possible to get to the App Manager while you are on a call? just leave the call going and head back to the desktop?

Well I had to reformat my phone eventually .. saw no other option but to do this .. fortunately I had made a backup of the phone's settings just a couple of days ago, so I pretty much recovered most of my earlier data, and am back to normal now ...

pavan, its no problem dude .. I really appreciate your effort in making this program .. it just needs a careful look to identify where the bug is .. if you need any input from me, please dont hesitate to ask

I had exactly the same problem. Same code for lock/unlock. I was only able to receive calls. Luckily, I had ssh installed.
My previous phone (n95 8gb) was stolen and I was really thrilled to see this app.
A fix will be nice.

Thanks for the feedback. I will read thru the documentation for maemo.org site and see if I could upload the debian package somewhere and it could be installed manually (via PC console) from there, so that everyone have full control of the software and report any bugs.
