anyone know how to set up a shortcut on N900's desktop so I don't need to type the whole thing everytime in xterminal?
Wondering if there will be a new version or rdesktop that will support using a custom port?

does rdesktop support file transfer from server to client? If it does, how? I cannot find anything related on browsing remote and local folders within the rdesktop.

Thanks.
Also in that same thread, I mention the cli command necessary to add your N900 MyDocs as a shared folder to your windows My Computer. The transfer may seem really slow and freeze up the rdp client screen for the time necessary for the transfer, but it works (if the RDP connection doesn't break, of course). I've transfered a gig of music from my remote computer this way, had to just set my N900 down somewhere for a looooong time....

It would be best if someone would go and fix all that up for the rdesktop package, though *sigh*

In using 1.6, how do I switch back to phone's desktop without disconnecting (or press the power key and End current task)?

How to get rid of this icon-button in right lover corner that shows and hides system information bar? Maemo browser can hide it automatically while fullscreen. It covers some icons in taskbar notification area.

Actually, I want it the other way.
Using 1.6, I don't see the icon, as a result, I can't show the system bar and can't switch back to phone's desktop without disconnecting first or kill that rdesktop process.

Camkeyd or ctrl+backspace does not help?
What bad should I expect if i downgrade my rdesktop to 1.6? Does it work at all in N900?

I didn't mention I'm running it in fullscreen mode, so there is no system bar. (In non-fullscreen mode, of course I can use the system to switch to tother app and desktop.)

Anyway, in normla or fullscreen mode, ctrl+backspace doesn't work, it's treated as key input and sent to the remote side.
Even after installing camkeyd, the focus key was sent to the remote side and I could hear my PC made some invalid key beep.

1.6 is required if the remote side is not using default rdp port, and it only has command line interface.

for that you need x11vnc.

i recommend you read these threads, they contain all the information necessary to set up a vnc server on the N900:

Hi,

I'm using rdesktop-cli version 1.63-maemo3 and when in fullscreen the touchable part seems to be bigger than the screen.

For ex. if I want to press the x to close a window on my XP machine I need to press just outside the frame where the N900 engraving is on the faceplate.

Has anyone noticed something similar?

Thx
