I sent an email to FRWD asking if the documentation for communication between B600 and computer (over serial bluetooth) was available somewhere. We'll see how they reply.

Hey

eCoach does not support this...and im not sure if this is possible.
The only documentation online is bluetooth specification to get GPS and HR data out from FRWD.

There is no step counter in eCoach.I think it should be a separate application...it shouldnt be very complicated application to write

I think its not necessary to load maps when you're skiing or driving bike etc...

Any cyclists use ecoach and the Zephyr heart rate monitor?
I cycle 30 miles a day and was thinking about buying the Zephyr and installing ecoach.
How good is the bluetooth connection between the two
Can the n900 data connection keep up with movement on the bike - Im worried abut the gps function losing the signal
Is it possible to plot routes in advance?

Looking for some real world experience before splashing some cash

Cheers

I cycle to work and back every day and was the guinea pig for Zephyr.
BT works perfectly, no problems ever with Zephyr and eCoach, even with the N900 in a ToPeak MTX bag.

The only problem case so far has been eCoach, Zephyr, BT headset, playing a podcast and then the MfE client starts to download mails. That usually kills one of the bluetooth connections. But that is a scenario that isn't really the norm. Workaround is to use a normal wired headset. (yes I know it is dangerous to ride with earbuds, but there are no road crossings on my route and the volume is low)

GPS works perfectly, after the initial network assisted connection, it uses GPS as is, so no network issue there. In the summer I ride road, and the GPS is good up to 50 km/h, that's as fast as I can go on the small downhills around here. (it works well when driving a car too, but that isn't the use case for eCoach)

Route plotting is not there. Would be cool, but I guess not an easy implementation.

There is also a nice generic cycle mount mentioned somewhere here in talk (http://www.bumm.de/index-e.html?docu/261e.htm). Bought it and am waiting for the summer to try it out in mountain biking. It feels sturdy enough (and as a Nokia employee, I'm not as scared of device braking as most people).
