Hello there,
I have recently reflashed my N810 as it was acting weird I figured a fresh flash would clear a lot of this up. I then restored from one of my backups and was still having hanging issues, things not working correctly so I decided to reflash and install applications on an as needed basis. The problem I am having is that most of the applications I am trying to install are erroring out saying I am missing dependencies. Am I missing something here. I do not recall ever having this issue the first time around. I would click on the app I wanted to install, bing bang boom it was done. I have added all the repos from http://www.gronmayer.com/it/ but that did not seem to help the problem either. Can someone please explain what the heck is going on

This may, in fact, be the problem.

Disable all repositories. Enable only Extras for your OS (which one do you have? Diablo?).

I'm going to reflash again as I'm not sure what all I need to undo only takes a few mins. So you are advising me not to add repos? Assuming I am getting the deb from maemo downloads, they should install with available repos as long as extras is enabled. Or am I getting the wrong

Actually, to be 100% safe, you should only add Extras and download from the application manager, not from downloads.maemo.org; I'm almost certain though that packages listed on downloads.maemo.org only link to sane repositories, so yes, most probably you could try those, too.

You see, the problem with those "wild" repositories is that nobody checks for consistency. A package in repository A may depend on a certain version of a file that used to be in repository B... and everything worked when package A was created and uploaded. But meanwhile, repository B may be down or offer a different, incompatible version of the file. Etc etc....

benny!
That was exactly the problem. I appreciate the big help. I can now get back to installing all kinds of new things. Any apps you recommend. I like using mine for communication.(dialcentral, Mauku, skype, email) I am also planning on doing more audio stuff as I feel there is potential but have yet to find that "app" Canola seems cool but drags a bit on the system. I'm looking for style with a small foot print.

Thanks again for bringing fun back to my tablet
