Hi everybody! I've had my N900 for a month now, and I absolutely love being free to use it as my heart desires. I get along perfectly with it, but there are just a few questions about functionality that I would love to have answered.

For the iPhone, I used a program called Prowl that would push growl notifications from my Mac to my phone. Using that, I could get growl updates from my mac regarding @replies on twitter as well as completed torrents, etc. Is there any similar program or any other way to push notifications? This would be very handy, as I loved being updated when I was mentioned or when a download of mine had finished.

Also, I'm very curious to know what the best way to use twitter on the N900 is. Witter is a decent client, but I'd love some way to easily post tweets, perhaps from a widget on the home screen. I'd also love an easy way to check for mentions and be notified of them.

If anybody has any recommendations for me or information regarding growl or twitter, I'd really appreciate it. Thank!

There is one app for linux called Mumbles which should be able to support Growl network, maybe someone wants to port it?

Growl for Maemo would be awesome if someone could figure that out, but if you're just looking for twitter notifications, you might wanna try to use the Conversations twitter plug-in. Although from what I understand, its still buggy and in dev.
