hi buddy.!
i also own an n900 UK device from the 3rd of december.
yes u r right i had to manually do the proxy settings for vodafone gprs. The only problem im facing till now is that the GPS does not connect when i use it thru gprs. Else the gprs works absolutely fine.
While connecting thru Wifi the gps connects almost instantly.
Are you facing a similar problem.??

Hey Pal....
Thats because Vodafone GPRS speed is not uptoo the mark. If u have opted for the packet data plan of 799pm. than i suppose it will become instant. but even than I was very dissapointed with the speed as i am always connected to OVI,Skpye and Gtalk on my phone. So i opted for MTNL 3G card..and it ROCKS!!!
Just cross ur finger and wait for 3g plan to come to Vodafone soon or buy the MTNL 3g Sim and u will rule ur phone!
