Hi All

Has anyone seen Oolite - the excellent free version of the original Elite? As there is a linux version - I wondered if it would be possible to run on the N900, but I don't know about such things. Would be pretty cool. Any thoughts?

It requires at least a 400 MHz processor, 256 MiB of memory, and a graphics card capable of accelerating OpenGL graphics.
With a port to GL ES it might work. GPL licensed, so that's good.

The issue with porting this is that it requires GNUStep and an Obj-C compiler. Spec-wise I don't see why it wouldn't run on an N900, we managed to port it to Irix before and it ran well on a 300Mhz SGI Octane.

If the SDK's GCC supported Objective-C I'd happily try and port this.

I guess n900 may be a bit too weak for complicated OXPs..

I remember it was about 3fps on my P3 1Ghz.. but that was a long time ago..
