You would've been prompted to set this password on install.
Which user name are you trying to log in as?

The default openssh install sets a root password, so your username would be root.

If you've installed OpenSSH Server & Client package it won't ask you for a password during the installation (it didn't ask me), but you can always set your password. Open xterm on your N900 and type:

Code:
sudo gainroot
passwd
Then choose whatever password you want, and log in as root from your SFTP client.

That's unusual - it's always asked me.
