If there already was a version for a mobile platform with OpenGL ES that would greatly increase the likelihood i guess.

only info I found was a discussion on their forums about the iPhone though and the end result of that one was that it would not be happening any time soon because of UI redesign issues.

Maybe you were thinking of Pocket UFO?

There was UFO 2000 on the N800/N810 was developed by Serge I think.
But this isn't Linked with UFO: AI but any UFO game is better than none

I ported UFO AI to the N900. Correction. I compiled it in the sandbox. No errors. at launch there is a red gradient border. The game does not launch, yet cpu isn't spiking either. I knew it required opengl, but I had hoped for a slow run. I will look into applying my opengles wrapper to it once I get that building blender.

Shinkamui: I'm really excited about your wrapper if it can be made into a general purpose thing. Lots of games/game engines could be ported with relative ease that way.

Yea, dmj, I too am anxious to get something extensible working. But the actual implementation is much much much harder than I thought. I didn't even start from scratch, but the code I inherited is so infused with windows mobile that I feel it might be best to start from scratch. Anyway, I will probably start a garage project to allow others to continue if I get this thing working.
