I have some problems with my rootfs.

Yesterday I've install few apps and now my rootfs have 48MB of free space...
the problem is:
before installing any apps the space was 68 and I've already remove all the apps previously installed!!

do you guys know a script that will check if some apps left packages on my rootfs?

Thanks!

Thanks, the first tip, maemo-optify gave me free space from 33 -> 48mb. A bit happier now

mece,

I did the 4 steps you said and it did cleaned up some space, from 97 to 85% usage of rootfs. but now I installed quicknote app and it opens and closes automaticly.. know what may cause this?

How about /var/lib/apt/lists?

23.6M on here at the moment, I'm guessing this is where the Application Catalogues store their information? could we not optify this too?

Sure... but there is nothing in extras* to do this AFAIK. Suggesting to optify things such as this without automation is usually avoided, since talking the average end user through mv's and ln's and checking the sanity of their work could be dangerous.

Cana nyone advise if there is anything here i should be concerned about.

I have next to zero free rootfs space. I managed to clear enough to delete some packages - some that have been on the device for ages and didn't cause any problems and all those i have installed in the last few days. I now have 6.1MB free and don't really know what i can do to cut it back any further.

Code:

You could try

Code:
apt-get autoclean
and
Code:
apt-get clean
Removes all stored archives in your cache. This could free up some space. Also a reboot often helps.

Put this in to find out the top 50 space takers.

Code:
dpkg-query -W -f='${Installed-Size}\t${Package}\n' '*' | sort -n | tail -50
Should help identify the hog.
