I had that problem after installing and then removing Subtitles support. When I installed it again, problem gone.

Whenever I click on a song, it'll take me to the "play" screen, but with no album art, and right hand side of the screen (where the album tracks would be listed) is completely blank. And obviously, nothing is playing.
When I try and play a video, the screen just goes blank for 20 seconds or so, then returns to the video selection menu.
Is there some terminal wizardry that can fix this? I've had my N900 a month and have already had to reflash twice. Getting fed up of installing all my apps/setting up my desktop over and over...
