Hi. I really need some help from the community.

I have a new N900 Last night the batt died. I am now unable to recharge. This seems to be the same fault I have seen others complain about.

The problem is I am an NVQ assessor in the UK I used the nokia to record a students professional discussion. I need to get this wav file back from the audio clips directory or I will be unable to pass the student.

The standard solution of re flashing the phone will I assume clean out all these files?

where do you have the file?

I dont quite understand what you are explaining... so your battery is depleted and it cant be charged? .how are you going to reflash then?

do you or your friends have nokia 5800?

in the audio clips directory that recorder places them in when they are recorded. I recorded this yesterday pm and planned to move it off the phone when I got home. Now I know about this issue Ill save to the external card.

I have been told that the voda store can re-flash the phone for me. (by voda online chat)

Thank you that is a very good thing to hear.

Do you know if the store is likly to do this the same way. (Is there any way they can f up my data)

Over all do folks know how to prevent this. It really is a big problem if I have to take my phone into a store and reflash it ever time the batt dies.

Also the bat life seems unpredictable. It indicated half full when I finished. then about an hour later I get this sound like a budgie being strangled for about 3 seconds and its gone no warnings nothing.

Yes and left it out over night. Also removed sim card and micro sd just in case.

the guy on Voda chat seemed to think the store could do this no probs. Of course he may be talking out of the wrong orifice.

I assume they would just put a batt from a different n900 in and reflash then.

Interesting thing is voda told me they do not have batts online for this. They also stated that the 5899 bat is slightly diff ( So I assume they will not do it that way)

i mean why u want to reflash it i think it just need a battery if u can put ur battery in another device and charge it then put it back in ur n900 the device will work as a charm thats the logic i mean it died after the battery was fully drained so it might dont need a reflash.. for now try to go to any center that have 5800 or n900 battery to take the recordered file..
