I'd say that's a completely valid reason they gave you. If it was less than 10 days, I'd say they had to refund you. But come on, over a month?

Would be different if there was a fw update like a week ago promising fixes, but as that's not the case either..

a) a "No thanks" or thumbs-down button
b) Ideally linked an auto-ban function
c) or at least an auto-ban if on too many ignore lists function?

My N900 connect to my Mail Exchange just fine. My Mail Exchange is 2003 and it worked after PR1.1, So I guess you are one of the few that could not get it to work.

First you need to know the server you logging into, then secondly you need to have a proper port setting. Just set it up manually. That's what I did.
Here is my setting:

Server: webmail2k.waikato.ac.nz (your own provider server)
Port: 443
Secure connection
Conflict Resolution: Server takes priority
Credentials:
Username:
Password:

This is it. And everything is worked!!

Wait...

You've had it for a month, but you only just now realized it has a critical flaw in a feature you need so bad that you based your entire purchase decision on, but you only just now got around to testing?

I'm just trying to figure out the timeline...

I was one of the first one to get this device. November 2009. I guess this is the lesson: I should of waited till this platform matures. Perhaps after 2nd or 3rd this device will be much more useful........I was smarter with iphone, didnt go for the first several versions, just got unlocked iphone 3gs............a truly remarkable email client. Works flawlessly

i originally got mine from nokia, used it for 2 days without sim as i was thinking weather to keep or buy on mobile contract, the mobile contract worked out cheaper and i returned the phone and got my refund.

I just push email for 2 of my msn.com email (hotmail) accounts and works perfectly for me, so i'm very happy with the phone, few things need improving just like any new device

Ronaldo, the issue is corporate email and non-provisioning. This device was I guess designed without IT security in mind.

No, it's more than that. You know that I respect your stance and in this case, I'll just state this clearly...

In cases like this, where there is no documentation - or it's buried under a lot of layers - to have one person dismiss a complaint, despite it's validity it draws scores of people that are going to have brand loyalty first and trying to assist that person with their grievance dead last. Cynicism is rampant around here; face it... there's a very distinct "us vs. them" theme going on in these forums and it plain sucks.

There is no "us vs. them". There's no "team". There's nothing more than a company with a product that is backed by this great community and ultimately there's going to be some gaps created when a new product comes out. Each grievance has some merit until it's shown to be truly false. People around here lately have been assuming "Oh, you should get/stick/have an iPhone..." blah blah mentality much too much lately. And I'm personally against that...

I belong to this forum, as well as many others, because I have a serious interest in the technology and how I can utilize it. If it's not for me, I won't get it. I skipped the N800, I'll probably be skipping the N900 until does all that I need. I've gone through the growing pains of being on more than one platform as an early adopter.

On my phone, I'll not take that again. iPhone broke that for me. It sucked when it came out. It sucks to me now to be honest. So to have to go back to nearly step one... hell no.

I can only guess you're missing some history here. Have you read vitaly's MfE thread at all?
I missed nothing. Want me to state this in terms you'd appreciate? Guber99's complaining at a level that I'd honestly call "nuisance". He could have concentrated his grievances into one thread. He did not. Is there a better way he could have made his problem known? Yep. But instead of working with people, he did work against people, imho.

But to dismiss his complaints instead of solving them though, that's what I'm against. I'm all over this site complaining about the lack of video on Skype. I don't mind being dismissed... but the moment it's solved, I'll shut up.

That's the problem. More "it's great for me! go get an iPhone" instead of "how can we help you?"...

That's not taking a darn thing away from you, Texrat. From the first time you posted and offered me a spare cover for my 770 - I stayed because that's the kind of community I want to be involved in.

Hint: this isn't about users rightfully noting missing features and making a reasonable effort to get them implemented. This is about spam, pure and simple.
And I can respect that. Just to state that despite his rampant complaints, nigh spam level complaining, there is a bit of merit to his grievances. This could be solved simply by a very well documented statement of what is and what isn't covered. This is a technical crowd, I'm sure we'd understand it.

But your stance, is respected. It's not a missing feature; it's a feature he wished worked for him and it doesn't.

If anything, I'll rather cut through the historical ******** and state it simply, fairly and evenly. If that's not appreciated here, then this place has been changed in a way that I truly cannot longer be a part of.

You have no part in that Texrat. If anything, you're probably the biggest reason I stick around. Take care.
