Hi,

Quite often I use SSH to connect to my N900 from my laptop.

That's great : I can update my podcasts, use sshfs to see my movies stored on my phone on my laptop's screen, exchange files using scp, and so on.

But all this has to be done in console mode.

Isn't it possible to connect to my laptop's X server ?? I tried something like -display <my laptop's IP>:0, and it just doesn't seem to work.

I'd rather not use VNC which I don't know well and don't like anyway.

Any suggestion ?

If your server allows it:

Code:
ssh -X user@server
Obviously this slows things down a bit! I only use it for novelty value really...

EDIT: Apologies! Misread your post. It sounds like you actually want to connect to your N900's X server. This should be possible without using VNC, but it doesn't work out of the box. I think xauth is missing.

Cheers,
Jan
