lol being a really smart person ive locked myself out of my n900, its asking me for the password in which i dont remember, i was pretty sure it was my brithday but its not working. so right now its as if my phone is not turned on. all incoming calls go to voicemail and i cant dial any except for emergy calls by pressin 112 or 911 in the password input. any sugguestions on what i do/

Is that the SIM password or the phone password? If the latter, then reflashing should get rid of it. You could also just keep retrying (I don't think the phone password has a lockout - not sure about the SIM password though).

That sounds as though you have forgotten your SIM lock code. This usually has a 3 times and then locked rule implimented. If you manage to totally hose the sim like that then you'll need to contact your operator for a PUK code to unlock it again.

As far as remember the lock code will be the same after flashing. But it won't ask for it. But if you reactivate it, it will be the old one. If you want to have a new one there is a program which can reset your password to a well known and then change it again. The user qwerty12 created this program and posted it here some time ago.

Well i dont think its the sim password becasue i dont remember setting it at all, so i should be the phone right? ive also tryed dozens of times and it hasnt locked me out yet. i still cant beleive id forget something like that.

hmm this program can it re-set the passwrod while the phone is not turned on? i dont think i wnna flash it because ill loose all the pics/movies/chats =(

The author wrote, that for executing the program he reflashed his device. But maybe you can access you device via ssh and copy the program to it, execute it and be happy. I've never done that myself. So I would recommend reading that other thread carefully and then judge own your own how brave you are yourself. And also if you Linux knowledge etc is sufficient or not.

Try take the sim card out and then start the device again. If it still ask for password then the only way is to access from SSH or reflashing it. Since it is an application locked therefore not easy to get it out unless you've got some application installed that can be access from your pc.

well i tryed to take the sim out, and it still asks for pass, ill try to flashing it, how can i ssh it if its not connected to the wifi?

i am having a hard time flashing, i followed the instructions i think. i downloaded the flasher 3.5 and the usa version 2 and put it in the same folder as the flasher,

i run the mameo flasher and the command (black screen) opens and says maemo flasher 3.5
but what do i do next/ i tryed dragging the file and it doesnt do a thing,

also i am in flashing mode as i can see the little usb icon on the nokia symbol.

The instructions can be found here. You need to start a command prompt, change to the flasher directory, and run the flasher command with the correct parameters.
