why not just get an archos media player, it can do all that above.

Larger screen also uses more battery, larger antenna uses more battery, and larger earpeice uses more battery. So longer battery life is not exactly going to happen.

If your earpeice isnt aleady loud enough for you, then use speaker. When I mine to the max, i can hear it from 5 feet away, any louder and it would the same as a speaker.

Ive never used my stylus once on the n900 and i have big hands

anyways, we can improve every part of the phone if you wanted it big as a computer, but the whole point of a phone is to be mobile. If you need a phone that big, I would suggest just getting a media player/internet tablet on the side.

but then again, its all about opinion. these days, everyone wants micro sized smartphones, which is why everyones making them so thin. Its what (most) people want. Personally, i would never buy a phone that big and im sure the majority agrees, which is why Nokia will likely not make it

Exactly. As almost everyone on this thread indicates, one from Nokia would be welcome...

It may be hard to conceptualize, but it is possible to have a device larger than the 900, with a larger screen than current, yet smaller than an Archos. One doesn't need to move from the 900's current size, to a notebook platform, to achieve an improvement.

A larger antennae would use "less battery" as the device would not have to fight as hard to maintain a signal in weak reception
areas.

Having a larger displacment speaker is not going to draw any more power...a watt is a watt, but a centimeter or more cut out for the earpiece is more than what is currently available, let alone a bigger driver.

Having a 10-15% larger screen would not negate the 50-100% power gain from going to a "double thickness" battery (Droid has larger screen, w/higher pixel count, yet yeilds similar, or longer use times).

I'm glad that you never have to use a stylus, but posting and navigating on the forums that I frequent are difficult using fingers alone, w/ default font size.

Just because someone would find a slightly larger screen for the 900 "beneficial", does not mean that they need to forgo the device altogether.

I prefer 5". Dell streak is coming with 5" screen. Then it will be usable for reading stuff on the device.

n900 already is a mini.....

E: it hardly covers n800's screen, just matched.

+1

Well, except for the Dpad part if it means losing the arrow keys. I find the n810 Dpad too mushy, and a different direction than the one I intend is often registered.

That is much bigger than an n810. Don't tell us what to get.

I too would prefer a slightly larger device... bigger battery, bigger keyboard, bigger camera (for more light collection and less noise), and a couple high quality hardware buttons (home screen, task switch, and phone controls would be nice).

...and a pony.

Camera I doubt you'd get a bigger sensor sadly. But yeah a 4" 4.3" or thereabouts screen would certainly be nice.
