As I know, the size of iphone OS is about 700MB. Then what is the size of Maemo and Android ? And, has any one here compared the power on time of iphone/maemo/android ?

I think it should be much bigger than 256MB,
because the develop environment need 1.5GB.

The development environment contains a fully working crosscompile environment, compiler, assembler, development headers, etc.. It's not comparable at all.

I just turned off my N900 and it took it 79 seconds to get back to the Nokia startup sound from shortly after I pushed the power on button.

Slow. I see a desktop at 0:36 and the widgets are all loaded by 0:47.

Either way, not a particularly meaningful number since you should never be turning it off.

As for the size, yes, it fits in 256MB.

Actually, if you like to switch batteries, as I do, you have to turn it off.

It takes my device 1 min. 15s to boot. (from the white light showing up to being signed in). For the sake of comparison, it usually takes my BlackBerry Curve 8320 two minutes to boot.
