Hi from Ireland:

Sorry for my english but I'm from spain living in North Ireland.

My problem is I have the N900 a week ago, and the first day everything worked fine, the next day the nokia ask me for an update to the new system, and since that the media player it doesn't show me any movie, picture, songs, etc. Just the radio stations.

I did the tracker-processes -r and nothing keep the same. I tried reinstall the system and the same, open the media player but it doesn't recognize any media file.

I have installed the Mediabox, and the same problem that Media Player it's doesn't find any media file.

The only player that works is Kmplayer, but don't show me covers and to play something I have to looking for everytime for the media file.

Somebody can help me with this problem? I will invite to a irish whisky to the person to resolve this. (This is a little joke)

1 Did you reboot? 2 Or reflashed?
3. Maybe installing MussOrgsky helps? You can get cover arts there and check tags etc. Don't know where I got it from though, extras testing, maybe even extras devel.. So be warned (but it worked just fine for me...).

If you mean reboot turn off the phone and turn on, yes i did a lot times.
With the nokia updater I reinstalled the system twice'
Nothing works. I tried transfer the music, pictures and videos to the memory card and the same. I have installed the extra decoders and nothing, desinstalled the extra decoders the same.
This is very rare. With the mediabox is the same.
I have checked the music tags and everything is fine.
Do you know is there is some different way to restore to factory settings reflashing again? Not througt Nokia updater.
The rest of the phone it works fine.
Please help

You can use the flasher tool as specified here. You may need to flash the eMMC as well (as flashing with NSU hasn't fixed it previously). In this case, make sure you backup everything from the MyDocs folder (the root folder shared through PC Suite/Mass Storage mode) as this will be wiped by flashing the eMMC.

hi!

My n900 Media player suddenly stopped working. No reboot or taking battery off helped. I have had newest firmware from the day it was released in january, so i guess that's not the reason? Does someone know if there is any known app from devel or testing that might cause this?

Stopped working how? Does it fail to launch, fail to show any available media, fail to play media, or what?

I've had that after installing and uninstalling Subtitle support app. After installing it again all came back to normal.

Finally I have resolve the problem by miself.
Solution:
I went to the link that Rob1n gave me. I downloaded the firmware vanilla eMMC or something like that. Reflash with reflasher, and now the nokia is better than in the beguining.
Media Player working very fast and good, and Mediabox the same. And I think the nokia go faster.
Thanks to everybody. You have a beer here in Derry North Ireland

thanks for really quick help people! The problem was caused by subtitles support, that i deleted a while ago. Now i installed it again and Media player works again.

Rob1n:

the media player widget did not work at all and media player it self didn't play any media.
