I have never typed these words before but:

I am blown away by Microsoft!

I feel it's a very sophisticated Maemo - what Maemo could have been. The fluidity of the interface combined with the breathtaking graphics makes for an unparalleled UI. All smartphone software should aspire to this.

I hope MeeGo can compete - but damn - the bar has been raised high.

I think it looks flashy, but extremely confusing. The Symbian^3 video seemed much better for actual usage in my opinion, even though it doesn't offer anything groundbreaking.

Agreed, the demo kinda very confusing, messy too. Maybe they will do a better demo.

I have to admit I do like the UI design, especially their Zune font.

I'm more interestede in how MeeGo will compete with Android though. Some of their future UI concepts are mindblowing.

I like how the windows phone looks. this online the whole time stuff sounds good, but drains the battery like it does on the n900. especially if it starts downloading pictures etc.
I actually don't use facebook, so a lot of the nice features are not for me. any word if they have implemented/integrated something like voip?

edit: i watched it here: http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/Laura...Hands-on-Demo/

I'm surprised by MS' accomplishments here too: the direction they've taken WM and how (relatively) quick they pulled it off. They've basically made an appliance out of their mobile OS and that's what the general market wants. I think they have great market potential with this...

Hmm Maybe it's just me but I'd have to say I didn't love the UI. Now if I had one i'm sure I'd like it but it just didn't grip me as a 'Oh must have' kinda thing like the 900 did.

Maybe it's just me.

Windows 7 series has nothing innovative...

No multitasking
No flash

What a waste.

Initial expressions are similar to seeing that new Android skin Sony Ericsson uses.

In short: form>function, or flashy UI that looks pretty but I'm not sure if I wanted to use it on regular basis.

Don't like it. Also MeeGo doesn't inspire. Maybe S^4 is for me? Demo of S^3 looks promising.
