You need to validate your email before you can edit anything. It's... complicated. But let's face it, us maemo.org people are experts at negotiating log-in hurdles.

I signed up to the work-group. So they will either have to 'fess up that they don't want end-users or deal with us from day one.

you get the "access" denied page when you sign up (successfully). if you look at the top right of the page, it shows youre signed in anyway. "access denied" is their greeting banner or such.
