Just to let you all know in the Uk, the reason its taking so long for the update is because UK is getting some extra features as listed below
  • Video Calling
  • Integrated MMS
  • Ovi 3.3 with Navigation
  • Full call logging
  • Feature rich calender
  • Outlook Mail

I wish!

Not really, no - Nokia have tied them in as a requirement for the core package . If it's space you're after, then you could just delete the files.

If you flash now to the global one, your next update will be the global one and so on and so on

No idea on the update front..... last time we got it about 7 hours after the rest... this time over 24 hours... could get better and / or worse

Flashing as stated above can be a sensible option but is not in any way required
Fair enough, good to know if I go the global route via manual flashing it only needs to be done once. That does make it slightly more attractive but I think the UK firmware would need to be delayed a few more days until I can be bothered.

Really I'm just interested in the why, not the when.

Unfortunately the real reason we haven't got the update is that Nokia are not supporting the UK anymore. They (Nokia) say we all moan and whinge far too much so they wont give us anymore firmware

I too can sort of live with a slight delay for a small change like this, but can you imagine reading through the 700 page thread we're likely to see when we have another large upgrade?

Think I might just bite the bullet and flash to a global firmware this afternoon.

Can someone tell me how to do it?

sorry, joke... el oh el?

In the same boat as you - but really - the changelog doesn't make me want to jump ship just yet

It was a Macbook, and it was done from the browser, it was the version before Snow Leopard, and they used Safari. Two different friends and it worked fine.
