That sounds like one of the many 'thickness' complaints that exist for the N900

They got MeeGo first and we didn't, and it's not even a nokia device i'm afraid i blew my money in the N900 for nothing, cause after the new meego devie comes, some people here will buy it, thus the N900 will get less and less support, app, and community help in general nokia better make us compatible too

"MeeGo" doesn't really exist yet so far as I know.. They may have announced they plan to use it - but I don't think the screenshot shows an "actual" MeeGo running.. more like a Moblin version.

I could be wrong though.

This is fantastic news!

The more moblin/meego/maemo devices out there, the better the platform will fare. Nokia's already demonstrated their ability to build outstanding hardware, so they'll do fine competitively.

It's win/win for all of us. Solid OS with high adoption rate, and solid hardware. And for those who haven't coded Qt but are interested... it's excellent. Once you get used to signals/slots and the Qt way of doing things, GTK feels downright primitive.

If it turns out they're sticking with apt/dpkg and Debian as the base system, all my dreams have come true.
