Anyone evr thought about getting the 770/n800 working with an ipod over USB?
that there would be one hell of a machine.
80GB drive, all the storage space you could need.

wireless ipod....media streaming.

hell...you could even have it run as a mobile server....

What would need to be done to hack it?

power over usb.... ipod in disk mode?

anyone else like to speculate on this and maybe we could get it happening

I could be wrong, but I believe thoughtfix did get an ipod working on a 770 using a powered hub and enabled host mode sometime back.

yep...your right.... iwas too quick on the suggestion without properly researching my idea...

Had a very good look over Thoughtfix's hacks... the battery powered mint tin idea looks like a great one.... I'm goignt ogive it a go soon.... I also went though the comments on his page and think there could be a smaller build possible, with a different battery/s... if i could get it flat enough to attach to the back of the n770/n800 or in a small case that could also hold the external drive to keep the wires to a minimum....

The website said summer 2007 so thats about now....
Maybe I'll just hangout and go surfing more often and forget about the ipod hack....

I'm not that good at electronics anyway...or maybe iI'll have a go for fun...

The power injector hack was fun, but doesn't work on the N800 currently without major kernel revision. The best choice for the N800 is currently either an online UPNP server with Media Streamer or dual 4GB SD cards.
