the unlimited plan cost you 25$, so the plan that you have is not really unlimited ;however it is limited to 10GB and may be you exceed this limit.

I just exceeded 10gb and got a notice that my speed would be reduced to 50kpbs.

I have just recently received my n900 and was going to get another phone fromT-mobile with their $10/month Add-on, Unlimited Web For Other Phones and put that SIM card in my n900 which I understood from previous forum posts and the T-mobile salesperson would give me unlimited internet (including 3G coverage where available) for my n900. Does this mean that since the recent firmware upgrade, this will not work?

I have it on the same plan with the recent firmware upgrade, works fine. You need to change the data connection to internet2.voicestream.com from the epc.tmobile.com

You will find this option when you go to settings->internet connections->tmobile->settings->advanced

Hope this helps.

What is the difference between internet2.voicestream.com versus epc.tmobile.com anyway? Are there differences in what ports are blocked? What about performance?

I still have the T-MobileWeb unlimited internet for $5.99 and it's still working fine. The APN I'm using is epc.tmobile.com

The only problem with this plan is it's been discontinued and meant for feature phones, not smartphones. Because of that I try not to use it too much (approx. 200MB per month), so that T-Mobile does not force me to upgrade to the $25 plan.
