I want to try this, will it allow me to disable vibration only for alarms or is this just for vibration tweaks?

I used midnight commander however the only vibration options I saw at the end were -

Pattern:-
IncomingCall
IncomingMessage
PowerKeyPress
Touchscreen
ChatAndEmail

Where would the option for disabling vibration when clock alarm is triggered be?

I can't find the option in mce.ini, too.
Does really no one know how to turn off vibration during alarm?

Hi there.
Search the file, bu that's all I've got:

VibratorPatterns=PatternIncomingCall;PatternIncomi ngMessage;PatternPowerKeyPress;PatternTouchscreen; PatternChatAndEmail

Which pattern should I change to disable vibro in alarm clock? I'm on 51/1 release.

In order to do this, you will need to:

* Download and install rootsh from the Extras repository, which will give you root access in the X-Terminal
* Download and install Midnight Commander, the well known file manager which also contains a convenient text editor.

-open x-terminal app
-type 'sudo gainroot' [enter] then 'mc'
-edit the file "etc/mce/mce.ini"
-down the bottom of file is the area you need to be..
-just read the file and its self explaining...
-its as simple as changing numbers...
-save file, exit mc and reboot.
Thanks f2thak.
Can anyone please point me to Download and install Midnight Commander - I did not find it ;(

also f2thak can you confirm that you can switch of vibration for alarm only using your mod?

I have root access to my new N900 (Maemo 5, downloaded yesterday). I've had a look in /etc/mce/mce.ini (using 'vi', which I've used a lot before), and like KPAH and others above all I have that has anything to do with 'vibrate' is this:

VibratorPatterns=PatternIncomingCall;PatternIncomi ngMessage;PatternPowerKeyPress;PatternTouchscreen; PatternChatAndEmail

None of the 'alarm settings' I can find have any option for 'vibrate', so is there another way I might be able to do this?

Someone's logged a bug for this - maybe head over and vote it up: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8541

(there's a similar, but different, request for 'fade in' vibration: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8021)
