i dont know, if someone implemented alread such a feature.
Sometimes you surf the web on the n900 web browser and often there are small elements to click and you have to use the stylus instead of your fingers.

It would be very helpfull to have a virtual touchpad to control a mouse pointer.
You could activate it with a finger gesture and a box is displayed on the screen (the range of the touchpad). If you move your finger within the box the mouse pointer is controlled.

good idea?

ehm... why don't you double-tap on that element to zoom in, then click on it and double-tap to zoom out again? ^^

somtimes it may be more comfortable to have a better overview..eg websites with many checkboxes.

Ok you can double click, but a virtual touchpad could be usefull for other apps that dont support zoom .

Swipe your finger in from the left of the screen to get a mouse pointer. Does that help? Can you use buttons to change focus when in mouse pointer mode?
