I think its called unrar or Xarchiver will both work
easiest way is
"apt-get unrar"

It's
Code:
apt-get install <pkgname>
Package is called unrar-free or unrar for the non-free version. See "apt-get --help" for further information. With "apt-cache search <keyword>" you can search for packages even if you don't know the correct name. Regular expressions can be used here.

Activate the Extras-Devel repository.

Run X-term as root

apt-get -install unrar, xarchiver
This will install a GUI and associate with rar files.

If xarchiver is not available, it is available as a deb file on my-maemo.com

It seems that it would be a good idea to package up Xarchiver and the related command line utilities and make it availabe on Extras. Will this need a separate brainstorm?

Just install Easy debian, Xarchive is build in over there... and it's like a PC.

You can drag and drop somewhere
