thanks for the quick reply! i installed this app, worked great! my setting was 1 min time interval, 500bytes idle traffic.

2 min of inactivity, it closes the connection!

not entirely sure whether i actually save battery life because i have already disabled wifi, i don't use it because i have an unlimited 3G data plan.

also, my default phone connectivity is on 3G network, so even when disconnect app closes my 3G data connection, my phone connection is still 3G, not 2G.

wonder if this is the case for everyone else?

The 15mb of space is due to the installation of the Qt 4.6 libraries (which will be by default in the next fw PR1.2) and it's installed in /opt/. My program is installed in /opt too, so only the icon, the shortcut and the log are stored on rootfs (<100k).

You're totally right. Thanks I am going to correct the description. Pardon my french

Great idea. It will be implemented in future versions.

Hummm. Could you still post the file /var/log/autodisconnect ? Thanks.

Are you sure the check Enabled is checked (I ask because upgrade from 0.1 reset the settings).

I am exactly in the same case than you. I've monitored the batteries status with Wifi, but I have to run tests with 3G data connection now. Will post the results in the description.

Thanks for reporting it. I am going to correct the description. The description will be closed if less than 0.5kb.

Just checked it and it works with 3G/GPRS. However when I connect to some WiFi network (like at my home), I get the notification that Autoconnect is in use for WLAN, but it doesn't disconnect it.

I just checked the log and it seems that it's getting quite much data all the time when connected to WLAN, so I'll check why (for some reason it doesn't receive anything when on GPRS)

Ok good news Maybe I should write it somewhere because you're not the first and won't be the last.

That's quite normal. While connecting to WLAN, you receive Broadcast and ARP packets (ie "are you still there"). I said quite normal because if it's a lot of data (more than 1KB/min) that's due to other causes like applications. What the amount of the bytes receveid between 2 checks ?

I'd say somewhere around 10k-15k.

Thanks for the answer!

My pleasure. Do you think you need to be able to set a limit per connection ?

For exemple :

- 500B limit for 3G
- 15KB limit for Wifi

It could be an enhancement of the application.

Note : an auto-set limit could be interesting too for those who don't know really what their idle traffic is.
