the map loader works under Windows XP, does not work with 7 (not sure about vista), i have tried both of them. And also, n900 user needs to use mass storage mode.

Really? I use Map Loader under W7 Ultimate 32-bit & Nokia N900 PC Suite mode without problem. And my friends too))

This message say that Nokia Map Loader don't find the correct file qf in root device.
Mass storage mode need for devices with maps saved on external cards. N900 save maps on internal drive
